Happy New Year! 🎉 As I wave “Goodbye” to 2023, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic year we had in the world of book publishing, or self-publishing, to be precise. It was a year filled with incredible accomplishments and the joy of bringing new stories and authors to the spotlight.

Potential clients who are not writers often ask me, “Can anyone write a book?” My answer is, “Yes, anyone with the desire and commitment can write a book.”

Writing a book is not limited to a specific group; it’s an open opportunity for individuals from all walks of life. However, it’s essential to recognise that book writing can be a challenging and bumpy ride, requiring dedication, creativity, and perseverance.

Then again, my 2023 book publishing highlights include one author who was nine years old when she published her book and appeared on the BBC. Say what? Yes! I’ve created a one-minute video compilation to relive that and other unforgettable moments of 2023. So, please watch and reminisce with me if you’re so inclined. And, again, yes, with proper support, anyone can write and publish a book.

I am deeply passionate about honouring and amplifying underrepresented voices. My mission involves partnering with self-publishing authors from diverse backgrounds, empowering them to craft literature that is ethnically inclusive and uplifting…

I’m happy to say that last year, thanks to my authors and their beautiful stories, I was able to live out the pledge above. 2023 was a year that will be etched in my memories…

My authors’ diverse literary worlds came alive, and I feel privileged to have been part of their fascinating journeys… From launching Jamaica-born Delvon Campbell’s memoir in America to watching British/Ghanaian Doreen-Zilpah Quansah shine on the BBC in the UK and finally, watching British/Bajan Kerry Waterman captivate audience on a prime-time Caribbean TV channel… What more can a book publishing consultant passionate about diversity and inclusion ask for?

As we enter 2024, I’m already immersed in new, exciting book publishing conversations – excited to discover new stories, nurture budding authors, and help more experienced writers refine their craft or publishing strategies. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store, and I’m eager to assist you in bringing your untold stories to life.
